Subtle Piece
I am on a mission. I have learned so much but I need to put this all into practice. I am going to weave a shawl/scarf with every type of gradient and go beyond my comfort zone of weaving with saturated colors. (I will still need to intersperse saturated yarns to keep me excited) I found 2 pieces of design I decided to blend into my weaving. My art work of clouds and an ocean picture. Since I had these colors in my stash, it was convenient. I was fascinated by the sand in the ocean scene so decided to add it. I wanted a calm subtle blend so I used a gray silver tencel and mercerized cotton for the warp. (They were warped in a smooth gradient.) I would change the stripe next time and use the red but smaller amounts. I did try orange but it didn’t appeal to me. I think I might look at a red orange or rust next time as well. I used the color editor…looked better on the editor. Do I like it? The jury is still out. Fibers: 3/2 mercerized cotton, tencel and 5/2 mercerized doubled. (I needed this color) The drape is great.
