I found an incredible rigid heddle pattern
Posted by Cass Markovich on February 7, 2024 at 5:21 pmWhat is going on my loom? I found the loveliest scarf pattern on Gist Yarn Website, Deflected Overshot by Carly Jayne. Congrats Carly! I bought the pattern and now hope this might become an incredible RH course on HA. (hint….hint)

What did you find? Share, please. lol I have seen some awesome RH drafts and all I can do on mine is plain weave. I could get another heddle for it but then it would need more tweaking that I am not sure I am smart enough to do.

Sandra, I have it listed in my forum post. Gist Website, Carly Jane’s Deflected Overshot. PS, if I can do 2 and 3 heddles on my RH….so can you.

lol I only have 1 heddle, and the reason I never did any weave is because I was not excited by what I was doing. I had no teacher then and I did not understand how it worked. I have a better idea now. but add a heddle to my RH loom scary thought. I want a table loom for when I have my knees done, and reading a draft for a table loom is scary. lol. Truth, I have a kit for a scarf that has to be done on an RH loom, all I have to do is dress it. and it’s an effortless plain weave I hope. Right now I am doing a parallel weave, dressing the loom is has been a nightmare and any mistakes that still exist will stay mistakes.

Thank you Cass! I have another rigid heddle pattern coming out this week from Gist!

Carly, I just saw your your newest pattern (Bridgetown Scarf) on Gist. Just lovely. I also read your blog on “De-mystifying Deflected Double Weave on a Rigid Heddle Loom. I love your explanations and photos. They are so helpful. Thank you and congratulations on being featured in Gist.

Thank you! I was so excited when they contacted me. I feel like a grown-up weaver now, lol!

Super!!!!! Another one to buy and add to my collection of Carly designs. Would you consider doing a HA rigid heddle class for these patterns?
-
Thanks Cass! Technically Gist owns the patterns for now, so everything has to go through them – so I can’t do specific classes for the HA on them- but ask me anything if you need help!\
