Sett for 3/2 perle cotton Swarthmore check runner and shrinkage
Hi,
I plan to weave a buffet cabinet runner. I made a 3/2 cotton twill runner for it when the buffet was my motherinlaw’s. But it came out a little too narrow to cover the whole width. It shrank 3 inches in the width, I recall. Now my daughter has the dining set and I’m going to make another runner. She picked a Swarthmore check pattern. We want it to cover the whole top and hang over the front to protect the edge from chairs in her too small dining room. I will use the 3/2 perle cotton again because it makes a thick somewhat protective covering. I am set to make samples to check shrinkage and sett. I was condsidering 13 or 14 epi so as to be firm instead of open and lacey. Has anyone done the same? Also do you have an idea of the %shrinkage width and length. I will sample but knowing more could make my sampling more accurate.
