Peer Support
March 25 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm PDT
Need answers or advice on a weaving conundrum? Looking for useful, constructive input on the design of your work? Anxious to see and share some show & tell? Our bi-monthly Peer Support sessions are the place for you!
These live and interactive sessions are a great opportunity to get answers, advice, feedback and ideas from your peers – or a shoulder to cry on if you need one. They’re also a fabulous way for others to benefit from YOUR hard-won experience.
Come with your questions, your know-how, and your show and tell! You’ll have a chance to talk about the projects you’re currently working on and ask for input on whatever’s on your mind. The sharing and the asking are both optional – you’re perfectly welcome to join a session and participate even if you don’t have a project or question of your own to discuss!
If you DO want to share, you can submit questions and photos in advance for the moderator to share, or do it yourself if you’re comfortable sharing your own screen in Zoom. Either way, you’ll have the opportunity to describe your project, ask your questions, and specify what kind of help, advice, or feedback you’re looking for, if any.
Additional details:
While discussion topics and the discussion itself are driven by participants, support sessions are moderated to make sure that everyone gets to participate and that the conversation keeps moving and stays on target.
The sessions begin with questions and photos that have been submitted in advance and turned into slides that can be shared by the moderator – this is a great option for folks who prefer not to share their own screen. When your slide comes up, you’ll have the floor for discussion.
Once the slides of submitted photos are done, participants who haven’t submitted anything in advance will have a chance to share and ask their own questions.
Peer Support sessions are Zoom meetings, with all participants visible and audible to the others if they choose to be. Each participant can decide for themselves whether or not to turn on their cameras and/or microphones. The sessions are recorded so that summaries may be posted to the website, but the recordings themselves are not made available.
