  • Help Reading Handweaving.net 2 or 3 Shaft Drafts

My LD is getting in the way……confusion abounds. In the draft Carly, I am not sure if the threads are doubled or are they single threads? In the 2 shaft drafts are the bottom squares eye threaded and the top slot threaded? I love the 3 shaft draft designs! I was putting it in wrong. Can I use three heddles with the 3 shaft drafts or would you suggest using the pick up stick and 2 heddles?

The draft doesn’t call for double threads, just two threads threaded on the same “shaft” in places. Can’t help you get on a rigid heddle loom.

The threads that would be doubled are when two filled grid squares are right next to each other, the areas circled.
If the bottom row of the grid (shaft 1) is your slot threads and the top row (shaft 2) is your eye threads you would thread this draft (from left to right)

    Double slot
    Single eye

    Double Slot

    Single eye

    Single Slot

    Single eye

    Single Slot

    Single Eye

    Double slot
