I love my trapeze! I can wind on long (and wide) warps quickly and keep the tension even. I’ve been using milk jugs as weight, but may try some chemistry lab weights for some of my narrower warps (because water can’t spill out of them, and I know the weight is equivalent if I divide the warp in half).

Love the trapeze (or warping valet as I was told it was called when I first saw one in Sweden).

I have the right type of ceiling in my basement I can hang something easily, and I am going to do it once I have my Norwood in place. I think it will be awesome. I watched your video on Long Thread Media and was amazed at how easy it looked to warp as you do. The one thing I did take from that video was lashing on, again you made it look so easy, and your warp just evened out and your tension was great. I am still on a learning curve, but it gets easier with each warp, and the lashing on has helped with some of the tension issues of my warp. Thanks for your videos and books. Yes, keep writing.

Thanks Sandra. My hope is that everyone finds the ‘best’ way for them to approach weaving. That may look different for different people. But weaving should be joyful, not fraught. :)

Here’s another pic of mom- @sue-willingham ‘s trapeze in action, but this time with the warp going over the castle of the loom ’cause it was too wide to fit through the shaft frames.
