If you are a rigid heddle weave looking at multi heddle weaving I just want you to know that I just started multi heddle weaving in June. I am also someone with learning difficulties so following directions is VERY difficult for me. Carly is amazing and is always there to answer questions and guide. If I can do it……everyone can do it. I swore last year I would never be a multi heddle weaver because I could not process the information. I proved myself wrong……..I started with Liz Gibson’s 2 heddles so you are starting on this exciting journey in the best way possible. I also find that Tien’s design and Janet’s tools are wonderful for multi heddle rigid heddle weavers. My weaving designs have improved and I love the tools for my design. As rigid heddle weavers we can produce 3, 4 and more shaft designs so now we have the flexibility of a flexible loom…..I can transport it every where while also creating exciting designs. If I go away for 3 months I can continue weaving, exploring and progressing. Our world has opened up. Note: when I won the State Fair competitions…..I competed with floor loom weavers on color and design. We are no longer the primitive loom weaver….we have joined a larger community.

Thank you Cass! Your I am so excited you have these skill in your pocket to enhance your amazing color and design sensibilities. I will always love plain weave but I love love love structures too. And yes, you CAN do it! The more we try and share our experiences the more normal the techniques become until it’s just part of the rigid heddle experience.
